Harira Soup – Moroccan Traditional Soup

Moroccan cuisine is a fusion of African, Arabic, French, Middle Eastern e Mediterranean influences. This makes its cuisine unique and surprising.

Harira is the name for soup and it is the name of the traditional Ramadan soup that usually is used to break the fast at sunset but also in weddings.

There are a lot of ways to prepare the soup, and every family has its recipe, that takes tomato, lentil, carrots and chickpea. You can also eat with pepper, saffron, cinnamon and ginger, among other ingredients. You can leave out the lamb and other kinds of meat and it is a vegetarian meal. You may eat with dates and Moroccan bread.
